Winter Reading Adventures Favorite genre: Historical fiction and psychology books There’s something so thrilling about books and especially about libraries. I have such fond memories of walking to the library as a kid and spending the afternoon choosing my next book. When I went to college, I worked in the “Stacks Dept.” where I spent countless hours sorting and shelving books. When I moved back to the Steubenville area with my husband and daughter, we signed her up for a library card when she was only a year old! After our son was born, we took advantage of so many of the library offerings like the groups for tots, the play area, the summer reading challenges, and we always left with a giant bag full of books. The library truly is a place for everyone. I joined the Friends of PLSJ because I wanted to get involved and contribute to PLSJ and the local community. My favorite part so far has been organizing our huge annual book sale. The level of excitement at this event is beyond words! It’s a blast seeing how much joy it brings to people to pour through the books and walk out with a giant stack for next to nothing! I’m excited about all the ideas we are currently working on, and hope you’ll consider joining us! Embark on a global adventure with our winter reading challenge! January 6 - March 31 This winter, your next great journey starts at the library! Join the Read Around the World Reading Challenge and explore new worlds, one page at a time.
