PLSJ Receives Donation of 100 Children's Books

Tuesday, February 26, 2019

The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County (PLSJ) received 100 new children’s books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers.  The books were a donation from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City, interested in fostering early reading and a love of books and encouraging parents and children to read together.

PLSJ Children’s Services Coordinator Misty Teasdale said, “We are so thankful to receive these quality hard cover children’s books from the Brownstone Book Fund. We were gifted 100 books so we were able to spread them throughout all PLSJ library outlets.  Children from all over the county will be enjoying them for years to come.“

The fund, founded in 1997 by Clyde R. Brownstone and his wife Diane, annually donates 100 books to 100 libraries across the country.
